"Z" in this case refers to the Nissan 300ZX car.  My tech pages are inside.  There are two body styles of the 300ZX, the z31, built from 1984-1989 and the z32 built during 1990-1996 (in the United States).  I have owned each and a total of three so far - a 1987 300ZX Turbo; a 1992 300ZX Twin Turbo; and a 1995 300ZX TT. 

All were great, bright red and turbo charged, but the z31 and z32 are very different animals.
